What to expect
During your child’s time at Footlights, our tutors will share their professional experience while helping them develop their skills in acting, singing and dance.
We want every child to get the most from their time at Footlights, building confidence and developing important life skills while having fun and making new friends. Alongside their performing arts training, children will:
- Build confidence when communicating and socialising
- Be encouraged to express themselves and share their ideas
- Develop creativity and decision-making skills
- Learn to listen to and respect others
- Work together as part of a team
Whether your child simply loves performing or dreams of taking it further, Footlights gives them the opportunity to develop at their own pace.
Students can also take internationally recognised LAMDA examinations and have the opportunity to audition for professional work through FPM Talent.

Shows
Each summer, our children take part in a full-scale performance where parents, carers, family and friends can come and see their progress.
The Autumn/Winter and Spring terms focus more on skills and technique, with a shorter informal presentation at Christmas.
Our teaching teams also provide written feedback each Easter, so you can track your child’s progress and speak to the team at any time.
About
Footlights was established in 2005 by our founder Jo Fisher, a trained actor and teacher, and who continues to have a hands-on role across our stage schools. You can read more about Footlights and our history here.
We have robust processes in place to keep your child safe. All of our staff are DBS checked and a trained first aider is always on site at each of our venues. You can view our safeguarding policy policy here.
